The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially revised the exam schedule for JEE Main 2026 Session 2. As per the latest update, the exam will now be conducted on April 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, 2026, instead of the earlier planned dates from April 2 to April 9.

Important Points for Session 2 Candidates

The JEE Main 2026 Session 2 exam will be held in two shifts daily — 9 AM to 12 Noon and 3 PM to 6 PM. Over 10 lakh candidates are expected to appear.

What is JEE Main 2026?

JEE Main 2026 is a national-level engineering entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is the gateway for admission to B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Planning courses in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs across India, and also serves as the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced 2026.

In 2026, over 13.5 lakh candidates registered for Session 1 alone. The exam is conducted in CBT mode, testing Class 11 & 12 concepts in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, while the B.Arch Drawing test is held offline.

JEE Main 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for JEE Main 2026, candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria, including academic qualifications, nationality, and age. Applicable category-wise relaxations are also provided as per guidelines.

Academic Qualification

  • Capture a live photo via webcam and upload the passport-size photograph and signature as per guidelines.
